Description
The rechargeable lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery pack is a specially designed module, for use in CARESCAPE™ patient monitor system and other medical equipment as applicable.
The module is comprised of inbuilt integrated circuits (IC), TI BQ20Z65-R1 and Seiko S-8244AAFFN-CEF-T2. The integrated circuit BQ20Z65-R1 measures available charge in the battery using its integrated high-performance analog peripherals. It mainly monitors capacity change, battery impedance and open-circuit voltage. The data captured is communicated to system host controller through serial communication bus. The IC S-8244AAFFN-CEF-T2 provides secondary protection to lithium ion battery pack. It includes a high-precision voltage detector circuit and a delay circuit for battery protection.
